New Update on My Dad

For those of you who are keeping track, my dad finally went in yesterday to get checked up on the mystery spot they had seen in the OTHER leg. His appt was supposed to be at 3pm, but they had called and wanted him in at 9am. Which in my mind, would be sending up red flags all over the place. He was there most of the day, getting tests and more x-rays. The final diagnosis is that he has a tumor in his thigh bone. It is now causing him pain to put weight on it, and because of this, they are putting him on restricted movement at home for the next two weeks for fear he will break his leg. The next course of action, and I am assuming this will be in the next two weeks, they will biopsy the tumor to discern whether it is malignant or benign. Whichever it is, it will be removed. Chemo will be an option should it be worse case scenario. After the removal, and whatever the treatment following, they will insert a metal rod in his leg for structural integrity.
My mom is "handling" this better than I think she is letting on. I am not freaking out yet, and was surprisingly calm while on the phone. We are of course hoping it will be benign, although I know God can remove it altogether! Please add my dad to your prayer lists! This would mean so much to me and my mom I am sure. This will not affect their finances in the regular sense, but should my dad be forced to retire, my mom will lose her health insurance. Which she needs due to several health issues. Her job does not let their employees work enough to qualify for health insurance.
Thanks Everyone!

Sorry to hear about your father. I'll keep him and your family in my prayers.
All the recipes, I post are recommended for diabetics. Another suggestion: watch the portion, stop keeping junk food and desserts in the house, and get physical. Oh, the whole family should follow the diet.
Bonuses: I lost 20 pounds and lowered my blood pressure, our teen has gotten more lean, barely any BMI on this guy. My hubby has lowered his blood sugar within his target goals.
Take care!

I will surely pray for your dad and the rest of your family as well. This stuff can be so scarey...not knowing and waiting. You have a great outlook on the situation and you are so right...God can remove it alltogether! Wishing you all the best!
Blessings!

I definitely understand having an ailing parent, and know it's no easy thing, and you all will be in my prayers. Hugs to you.

Yes, it's hard to see those we love have health problems. It makes us realize how wonderful it will be in heaven to have new bodies that never get sick! Praying for your dad and your family.

Thanks for coming by my blog. I enjoyed reading about your time with your cute little children! What a sweet story about your three-year-old.

Have a blessed Sunday!
