The vacuum is a Eureka Altima! And it is awesome, I don't usually get excited over cleaning supplies, but this is a great buy! A few more details on it...

Edger on the side so you can vacuum as close to the wall as you can get
12 amps (I am told this is a good thing!)
The usual attachements, as well as a Power Paw to vacuum the stairs, and probably things like furniture
Easy to empty bagless thingy (sorry I am having a brain moment!)

And it has an extra long power cord, which I love because sometimes our plugins are in rather random places!

My last vacuum was a Eureka and it was good for quite a while before the bearings or motor or something went out. I liked the attachments on it, and it did have a really long cord! My new one is a Hoover Fusion and the cord is much shorter. I do like the filter I can clean and not have to replace (my old Eureka had one that had to be replaced every few months).
