Birthday Post For Little Guy....

Ok, so this is a little belated, I wanted to get to this about a month and a half ago. However, ALL of his baby pictures are on my old laptop and it can be a HUGE pain to get them to upload to Photobucket in a timely manner.
So while his birthday letter is here, I will have to add the baby pictures at a future date.

Dear Little Guy,

Photobucket

You have been 3 yrs old for a little while now, and I still look at you sometimes in amazement. You can talk circles around a lot of the 3yr olds I know, but you are still so little that everyone takes you for a new 2 yr old. You are smart, and ridiculously funny sometimes. You have more energy than anyone I have EVER met!
Everything you do, you do with a passion and a fierceness that touches my heart and scares me to death sometimes. You play hard, putting all your effort into all that you do. You love hard, giving some of the best hugs and kisses. Just this afternoon, you ran and threw yourself at me. Your little arms tight around my neck as you shouted in my ear, "LOVE YOU MOMMY!!" You can be so sweet. And such a stinker. Sometimes simultaneously!

Photobucket

We had some tough times with you. You eat almost anything I put in front of you now, but for a whole year, you couldn't have anything dairy or with gluten. You were barely sleeping because of how much pain you were in. You would cry and cry while I rocked you. After a lot of prayer and working to figure out what it was, we found out your digestive system just wasn't handling the gluten and dairy and was making you sick. You are over that now, thank God!

Photobucket

You ADORE your baby sister. And absolutely dislike anyone who is a stranger talking to her. You frown at them and tell them, "Thats MY baby." I love that you hug her and kiss her. Telling her she is your little princess.

So, my sweet little guy, while this has been a tough year for you with Daddy being gone, you will have your Daddy home soon! Mommy and Daddy love you like CRAZY! I hope this year is full of learning and fun. I can't wait to see how much you grow!

Love always
Mommy

THE HAIRCUT!!

Ok, I have been asked a couple of times to put a pic of my new haircut on here. Took me a while since in order for it to look the way its supposed to, I have to DO IT. Amazing concept, right? Let me put it this way, if I wash it and let it go it does this strange wavy flippy thing, and I end up looking like Carol Brady with a nose ring. (Think the later Brady episodes) And I SO don't want to look like I have a mom haircut.

*Immediately following haircut pic, what is with the head tilting?

This is about 2 months later. It has grown out a bit and I tend to just flat iron it and not bother with putting product in my hair. But when I do, its all cool and funky!

Spring Break 2008 Woo Hoo

Today begins the first day of Train Junkies Spring Break. Who by the way MAY be outgrowing the, wait for it, TRAINS! I KNOW. I can hardly believe it. Needless to say, he may be getting a new nickname one of these days.

Back to our rousing Spring Break plans!

I know after the grueling pressure of Pre-School Train Junkie needs a week of relaxation and unwinding. He is a Party ANIMAL! Probably catch up on some good old Max and Ruby, play construction outside, and lets not forget the newest interest at the Posh household. MONSTER TRUCKS!

I have some big plans of my own. There will be loads of laundry to be done, carpets to clean, and packing to be done. And then, you can find me pulling my hair out while my boys systematically drive me nuts!

Seriously, this week is a big week for us. In 7 days, hubby will finally be home! This is not a 6 months I ever want to repeat. I have been overwhelmed and overstressed. We wouldn't have made it without Gods grace. Although honestly, my patience has worn thin, and a lot of time I have felt like my sanity was hanging by a thread. Its been my fault most of the time. I have a hard time asking for help. I feel like I should be able to just deal with it. But ya know, we did make it. Words can't describe how excited we are!

Tomorrow they are drawing the name of the person who get the First Kiss. Pray that I win!

Heres to Spring Break 2008, its gonna get crazy up in here. Yo.

You Know What They Say About A Sleeping Baby....

I have come to the conclusion that The Princess is the worlds lightest sleeper. Any little noise gets her tossing and turning and usually waking up. For the most part, I can nurse her and get her back to sleep.

Last night I was not so lucky. I had gotten up with my boys to take them to the potty and get them back into bed and in doing so, I woke the sleeping baby! By the time I went back in the room, she was pretty upset. I picked her up, re-wrapped her in her blankie and set about getting her back to sleep. She was not having any part of it. It was about 3:30 and she was bright eyed and waving her arms around grinning at me!

I put her back in her bed with a kiss and a good night and grabbed my pillow and a blanket to head downstairs to the couch. I really didn't want to lay on the couch, but I knew if I didn't, she would fuss at me.

Let me tell you, there is a HUGE difference between a couch and our queen size bed. I couldn't get comfortable, so I just lay there listening to The Princess chat with herself. When the spaces between her talking, and the bits of quiet got a lot bigger, I decided to get back in my nice cozy bed.

We had a lovely cold front come through The Armpit so it was really chilly. I had turned the heater on, and if I open the bedroom door when the air is running it doesn't seem to squeak so much. I opened it only enough to slip in. The MINUTE I did, I heard her rustle her covers.

ACK!! I so did not want to wake her back up. I bent over and slunk (is that even a word?) to the bed. She moved a little more and starting talking a teensy bit in her sleep. NOOOOOOO.... Bent over at the waist I was laying with my chest and head on the mattress, feet flat on the floor. I waited a little longer, Princess quieted and I began to literally slither across the bed.

I felt like a sitcom waiting to happen. It took me like 5 minutes to get my entire body on the bed. Mind you, I was horizontal across the width of it, but I was in BED, dang it! My sweet girl started talking again and she does this little singing thing when she is putting herself to sleep. She started that up again while I lay there trying to be as silent as possible. So I began to make my way to getting my head on my pillow. It felt like an eternity.

Did you know, you could take 20 minutes to get into bed? And that sleeping baby? She let me sleep until 6!

I Am Not That Strong

When hubby and I got married, almost 7 years ago, I learned that he was meticulous about certain things. For example, back in the days when we had time to make our bed every morning, I caught him putting hospital corners on not only the sheets, but the blankets too. If I hadn't stopped him, he would have down it to my down comforter and duvet. Personally when I get into bed at night, I like to be able to move.
The longer we were married, it was funny to see what he would obsessively clean next. When Train Junkie decided he wanted to control the food going into his mouth, I was all for giving him a spoon and letting him go to town. Hubby, well, he refused to let him do it. Because of the mess. Boy was he delusional! I am sorry, but Baby = Mess! and a BOY well, that equals very LARGE mess!
I think Train Junkie was like 2 and a half before hubby let him feed himself with a spoon. Thankfully I had been letting him do it for quite a while!
Last year, before he left for deployment, we had gotten home from church. It was early afternoon, but the boys were tired and HUNGRY. Hubby decided for some odd reason it would be a GREAT idea thought he would sweep all the leaves off the front and back porch. Before lunch. Leaving a cranky and pregnant ME to keep the boys inside and make them lunch. When all they wanted was to be outside with Daddy. Which he didn't want, lest they mess up his lovely little piles of leaves. Needless to say, that didn't go over very well with me.
One of the ongoing cleaning projects, is the Durango. He likes to take it about once a week, two at the most, and wash, vacuum, and clean it out. I say more power to him, its not my favorite thing to do. Its not even my second favorite thing to do. I would put it somewhere after vacuuming and before ironing.
So considering hubby is deployed and I am so not motivated, I have done very little cleaning out of the car. However, this past week, I started longing for it to be clean. I wanted to have a quick solution. I imagined taking my car and turning it on its end and SHAKING all the junk out of it. Then getting the biggest broom ever and sweeping it away. I tried that, it didn't work.

Catch-22

You all know that I want more than anything for hubby to come home. As soon as possible. But, I knew what day he was coming home, and I knew the dates for our leave period. They had confirmed them yesterday. So with that knowledge I had researched and booked airfare and our hotel room. I called and told my family we were coming!
Now I get an email saying the ship might "tentatively" come back 5 days sooner. And should this happen, leave dates would change. You know, the leave I just bought 4 plane tickets for?!

Do I cry from happiness or from frustration?? I would love to have hubby home early. But I also don't want to have to spend more money to change the dates.

What is that line from the Anchorman movie?

"I am trapped in box of emotions!" (I think thats pretty close, if its something different let me know and I will fix it...)

But thats how I feel, just like Will Ferrel. And I don't know if thats a good thing, look what the Navy has done to me!

One Stop Shopping

Once a week, while Train Junkie is in school, Little Guy, The Princess, and I head out and go grocery shopping. Our last stop before we head home is Target. I get several things here, baby food, diapers, Soy Milk, and regular Milk. Its cheaper, and the milk is hormone free.
If Little Guy behaves himself, I let him pick out a hotwheel for him and his brother. As far as I am concerned, Target has EVERYTHING! And so does Little Guy.
A little while ago, I was explaining to him that The Princess was a gift from God. It took a little while for him to grasp the concept. But then he started running around and saying she was his present. Well this morning, after he had a nutritious breakfast of pancake on a stick, he started talking about how his sister was a present. I asked him if he knew who had given us our sweet little gift.
He heartily replied, "TARGET!"
"Babies come from Target Mommy!"

Boy is he going to be disappointed someday!
